Depression hurts everyone at least once in their life. Now it has caught me and I can't get away. She has hurt me for the last time and I just can't handle it any more. It has happened more than it should have. I deserve better. She built my hopes up and just tore them down like she doesn't even care. She says she does and then I can tell she doesn't because of her actions. I wish for once someone would tell me the truth.

As the patrol officer inspects the site on the other side of the lake were two bright green eyes that followed the officer with every single movement he made. The officer hears a noise on the other side of the lake. He quickly looks but sees nothing. He thinks he hears footsteps getting closer but he doesn't stay long enough to find out for sure. He is driving back to the town to report what he has found.

A week has passed and nothing has been done about what the officer had found. Another day passed and some families reported missing teens. The officer didn't think anything of it at first but then he remembered the site. He contacted the families to ask them when they last seen their kids. The families calmly told the officer that they were suppose to go camping about 2 weeks ago. The officer tells them what he had stumbled upon in the old camping area.

The families collaberate and create a search party. They all head out to the camping area in Greenbriar County. When they reach their destination everyone heads around the trail. After about two hours they realize that they are not covering enough ground, so they form three groups and spread out. They were all suppose to meet back at the camp at sunset. At least they were suppose to.

Later that evening the first group make it back to the site. They are waiting on the other groups to get there. A couple of cops pull up to see how they were doing. The group said that they haven't found anyone and the other two groups have not shown up yet. One officer asks them if they had seen anything suspicious. The group explains to him that they have not found a trace of anything. No sturred up leaves, no trails, not even a single footprint besides theirs.

They are all standing in the dark site when they hear approaching footsteps. They all wait to see what was coming. They suspected that it was one of the groups. The noise got closer. It sounded like someone was dragging something. The noise got even closer and the fear rose. A figure was making itself more clear. It was Josh.

They all rush to him once they realize who it is to help him stand but he quickly falls. They ask him what is wrong and he barely gets out a couple words. "Get out of here, they are coming". Josh is now dead. They hear something like a big group of people rushing their way from the other side of the lake. They rush to their cars and take off. One of the members of the group is looking out the back window and notices a very large group of figures. He can barely make out what they are and he realizes that they were not members of the other groups. They were like monsters.

The group makes it back to their town just before sunrise. They stop at a store to get something to eat and drink. Kathy, who is the member that noticed the monsters following them, stayed outside. She is watching the sunrise and notices about 100 dark figures standing on the horizon.

Trail Of Abyss (Part I)

It is the beginning of summer vacation, Josh , Amanda , Jeremy , and Kerri are going to take a vacation. They are thinking about going camping for a weekend. They all pack up and get ready to leave. The next day all of them get together and leave to Greenbrier county to camp. The sites have been closed for over three years due to a chemical spill from the chemical plant just a mile from the campground. They are traveling down the long, straight road facing the lake. The campground looks like it has been well preserved since the accident. They turn off to the first area looking for the site that they liked the most. They finally made it to the third area that is at the end of the lake. They chose the site that was closest to the boat dock so they could have easy access to the lake.

As Josh and Jeremy were setting up camp the girls decide to take a walk on the trail. They get to the second area and notice something moving over on the other side of the lake. They tried not to pay that much attention to it and continued on. They reached the first area and notice the figure once more. It seemed like it was following them. They hurried back to the camp because they were getting worried. When they returned to the site Josh and Jeremy were gone. They stood there for a minute and the boys returned to the site on the trail that comes from around the other side of the lake. Josh asked them if they saw anything out of the ordinary on their walk. The girls told them that they were getting worried because they didn't know what that was. Josh and Jeremy just started to laugh.

Later that night the girls thought that they were hearing things out in the woods. Josh and Jeremy go out to see what it was as the girls watched from the tent. The boys reach the darkness just out of site from the girls and Josh makes a deathly scream that frightens the girls. They waited in the dark for about five minutes and finally come out laughing and joking around. They told the girls that it was probably just a deer or a bird or something. So they went back to bed. The next morning Jeremy wakes up and starts a fire so they can make breakfast. Soon later Josh wakes up and helps Jeremy with the food. About a half an hour later the girls wake up and start eating their breakfast.

After breakfast, Josh and Jeremy go out on the boat to try and catch some fish. While they were on the lake Jeremy thought he noticed something on the other side of the lake so he tells Josh to row him into shore so he could get a better look at whatever it was. Jeremy gets off of the boat and tells Josh that he will meet him back at the site later. So Josh rows back out to the center of the lake to continue fishing. An hour passed and Josh has seen no sign of Jeremy anywhere but he presumed that he was hanging out with the girls. He couldn't see the site from where he was on the lake. Josh gets tired of fishing so he starts to row back to shore to the site where he saw only the girls.

He gets back ashore and asks them if they had seen Jeremy. They look at him puzzled because the last time they had seen him was when he and Josh rowed out onto the lake. Josh explains to them what Jeremy had done and where he had gone so they decide to take off on the trail to search for him. They make it about half way around the lake when Amanda hears something behind a tree. Slowly, Josh sneaks up to the tree and all of a sudden a rabbit comes hopping out from behind the tree. The girls were relieved because they were getting scared. They continue to search for Jeremy for about another two hours around and around the lake but never find him.

Night has come around again and Josh tells the girls he is probably just hiding and will show up tonight to try and scare us. They finally went to sleep. The next morning the girls wake up and Josh is gone. They guessed that he must have gone to search for Jeremy some more while they were sleeping. They wait at the site for about three hours just joking around and resting. They keep wondering where The boys went to and start to yell for them. They get no reply except for the occassional pitter patter of a rabbits feet or the scampering of a squirrel.

Night comes around once more and the girls start to get worried about the boys. They haven't seen Jeremy for two days and haven't seen Josh for the entire day. They stay up with the fire still burning. They were roasting marshmallows and making smores. They thought that they heard something approaching them in the distance but it was to dark to tell. The night was silent for about a half an hour then they hear footsteps again. They finally see a figure approaching them and Amanda says," Josh?" . Then Kerri says, "Jeremy? ". Then as the figure approaches the fire goes out.

The next morning a patrol officer is driving by and notices the tents set up and goes to investigate the site. He notices that there were people there just recent because he saw footprints. The coals in the fire are glowing a bright orange. The forest is silent, and the lake is calm.

First Buck Killed This Year

I was sitting in my treestand, I got there at about 6:15 in the morning so it was still dark. I was there about 5 minutes and it started raining. I stayed in my stand because the rain was not bothering me. My Uncle told me that most of the deer he sees from that stand come from the left or right in front of him. So I payed most of my attention to those directions. At 7:30 the feeder kicked off. It was bright enough by then that I could shoot. About 10 minutes passed and I was still paying attention to the two directions. For some reason I decided to turn to my right and sure enough a spike was standing under the feeder about 30 yards away staring me down. I tried to stay calm as it went back to feeding. I eased my gun toward the deer. It kept looking behind it so I figured it was a doe or something. It was facing straight toward me not allowing me a broadside shot. It put its head back to the ground giving me a clear shot at its head. I contemplated about shooting the deer in the head and decided I was going to take the shot. It looked back one last time as I cocked my gun. When I did that the deer acted startled as it looked at me. I knew it saw me but just didn't act like it cared. He put his head back down to eat so I put the cross arrows on its forehead and pulled the trigger. It was such a hard impact the the deer flipped backward. That was my first kill of the season.
